تعتبر رومية من ابرز بلدات المتن الشمالي لما اصبحت عليه بفضل مجلس بلديتها الحالي برئاسة لويس ابي حبيب هالمجلس عمل على تحديث شبكة المياه لعدم الهدر عالطرقات اضافة الى المحافظة على البيئة والتراث وانشاء ارصفة للمشاة بكل المنطقة وزرع الزهور بالساحات على جوانب الطرقات والحدائق العامة فاصبحت تلقب ببلدة الزهور رئيس البلدية والمرشح لولاية جديدة لويس ابي حبيب عمل مع المجلس البلدي ايضا على استملاك ارض لنشاء مركز للبلدة هيي اللي اشتهرت بساحة العين وسيتم خلال نهاية العام الحالي البدء بانشاء هالمركز اللي رح يضم مبنى البلدية واخر للمختار ومراكز ثقافية وفنية ومركز تسلية للمسنين بالبلدة مجلس بلدية رومية يضم 12 عضو والانتخابات في البلدة تعتمد على العائلات ولائحة المرشح لويس ابي حبيب تضم كل العائلات
رومية -لوائح مختلطة والأحزاب لا تتدخل مباشرة
18 عاما من العمل البلدي والانمائي الدؤوب ارتقى برومية الى اكثر البلدات جمالا وتنظيما في لبنان. البلدة الخضراء في محيط مكتظ عمرانيا والضيعة النموذجية المتاخمة للمدينة التي حافظت على طابعها القروي الانيق، تخوض اليوم معركة بلدية شبه محسومة النتائج بين لائحتين مكتملتين لاثني عشر عضوا في البلدية ومختارين.
